About Lessons
Your son/daughter will gain a thorough knowledge of music through my private lesson programs. Both levels of study (Concert & Olympic) will explore:
- Diverse Repertoire (from Baroque, Classical, and Romantic, to Jazz, Contemporary, and Pop)
- Music Theory (Key signatures, scales, form, chord progressions, intervals, transposition, style, etc)
- Sight Reading (Daily sight reading assignment, reading by intervals, recognizing the key center)
- Ear Training (Recognizing chords such as major and minor, recognizing intervals)
- Rhythm (Daily rhythm assignment book)
- Note Reading (using flashcards and note-speller book)
- Technique (performance, arm balance, wrist placement, finger strength, etc)
- Musicianship (how to express the piece, including dynamics, tempo, feel, accents, melody vs. accompaniment, etc)
Parent(s) and teacher will first discuss a level of study for the child
